Jewelry Designer
Mélange Jewelry was started more than 15 years ago by
me. I've lived in New York, North Carolina and finally my
husband and I live in sunny Las Vegas. I have been
designing and fabricating jewelry since I was a little girl. I
would take the unused jewelry out of my mother's jewelry
box and take it apart and remake it using kitchen utensils
and my father's pliers -- crude but effective.
I put my ideas into a drawing before I bring them to
reality. I try to create jewelry that is appealing to people
who appreciate Jewelry Art. Contrast and Balance,
Harmony and Opposition are words that have been used
to describe some of my work. My inspiration comes from
visual experiences I have in everyday life, especially colors
from nature, childhood memories, natural “old” structures,
shapes and brilliant colors of fruit, and unique human
characters.
I used to create a few small pieces of Jewelry for friends
and co-workers. Now, my husband and I do festivals in
and around Las Vegas and are expanding our show
travels each year. Make sure to look at the schedule for a
current festival at a location near you.
